Our Hornby workshop is outfitted with a wide variety of equipment including cutting, drilling, guillotining and welding machines, to handle small on the spot tasks through to large custom fabrication. Some of the workshop services are:
• Structural steel fabrication
• Steel joists
• Steel trusses
• Welded assemblies
• Jobbing and manufacturing to plans and drawings
• Security gates, grills, stairs and fire escapes made to specification – galvanised, powder coasted or painted as required.
STRUCTURAL STEEL
Our main workshop, which has a floor area of 1400 square metres and a hook height of over 6 metres with four gantry cranes, provides the base for our structural steel production. We have recently expanded the main workshop to create a 345m2 bay for all our drilling, cutting and punching operations involving our beam line drill and 3.6m 16mm guillotine. With three CAD stations for shop drawing we can offer complete shop drawing for any size project.
Our 2000m2 yard now includes a 520m2 steel store releasing significant space in our main workshop to fabricate and weld larger structural steel items.
METALWORK
We have a second smaller workshop of 450 square metres completely fitted out with new plant including a 2 tonne overhead crane for all balustrade, handrail, residential and commercial metalwork requirements.

Our vehicle fleet is made up of:
2 x 40ft semi trailer
1 x 4 x 2 Prime Mover
2 x rigid deck trucks of 6m
4 x crane truck with a 3.9 tonne capacity
1 x 20 tonne Nissan P&H hydraulic drane
1 x 25tonne Tadanno rough terrain crane
1 x 22 metre Snorkel boom lift
1 x 17 metre Merlo Telehandler complete with man cage

With three CAD stations for shop drawings we can offer complete detailing service for any size project. To help cope with workload we engage professional detailing companies who we have built strong relationships with.
FABRICATION
Our 3000m2 yard now includes a 520m2 steel store giving us significant space in our main workshop to fabricate and weld both small and larger structural steel items.
SURFACE PROTECTION
All painting requirements are handled in-house by our workers by associate company Maverick Sandblasting.
STEEL ERECTION
Fabricated steel is transported to site by our modern fleet of vehicles, cranes and crane trucks where our on site teams weld, bolt, lift and erect components. Safety is paramount and we are proud to have passed and received certification of ACC’s Workplace Safety Management Programme.
